. . . Not a job you fell into. Not something you're doing until you figure out what's next. A real career. With a real income, real respect, and a real seat at the table.
You already know safety is more than regulations. You already know management support matters. You already know the regulations are the floor, not the ceiling. You've read the books, listened to the podcasts, taken the certifications.
What you're missing isn't another concept.
It's a system. A community. And a roadmap to actually get there.
And you've already decided you're not waiting for your employer to fund your growth. The safety professionals who end up at the director and executive level aren't the ones who waited for training. They're the ones who invested in themselves when it mattered.

Here's what you

Even if you have your policies in place, your certifications on the wall, and your programs running... building safety around management support and employee involvement can do something completely different for your career.
Here's what you
Even if you have your policies in place, your certifications on the wall, and your programs running... building safety around management support and employee involvement can do something completely different for your career.

EARN YOUR SEAT IN THE C-SUITE
When the executive team calls a meeting, you're in the room. Not because you fought your way in. Because it's understood that everything they do affects safety, and safety adds real dollars to the bottom line. That's a different relationship with your career.

EASILY RAISE THE PROFILE OF SAFETY
"Safety is a core value" stops being a wish on the wall and becomes the way business gets done. At every level, safety is at the front of every worker's mind.
BUILD PROMINENCE FOR SAFETY IN EVERY BUSINESS DECISION
When new products get designed, machinery gets purchased, or processes change, you're involved from conception to implementation. Gone are the days of walking in to find another machine guarding problem to clean up after the fact.
FREE UP YOUR TIME TO WORK ON WHAT YOU MATTERS MOST
Imagine never facilitating every safety meeting because your front line supervisors have the knowledge, the ability, and the gusto to do it themselves. You get your calendar back. You get to focus on moving the program forward.

BECOME THE AUTHORITY ON BEST BUSINESS PRACTICES
Departments will come to you asking how they can improve their processes. You'll stop begging them to try a safety method. They'll start begging you to help them.

When you took on the safety role, the first thing you learned was the rules. OSHA, DOT, EPA, RMP. The acronyms had your head spinning.
But there was more. You had to manage injuries, train new employees, and keep costs down. So you set to work. You learned what you were "supposed" to do. The pile of reg books grew, and so did the endless confusion.
You started attending workshops, seminars, joining social media groups. You took tons of notes. Maybe you even started a plan. (I love a great Gantt chart.)
And the more you learned about what you were "supposed" to be doing, the longer your to-do list got. The next thing you knew, you were responsible for all of it and too busy to do any of it.
But you're missing a key element to safety management. The people.
Your success depends on the behaviors and actions of the employees and managers around you. You need to know how to influence people. How to sell your ideas. How to get them on your side.
(They didn't teach that part in that seminar, did they?)
And this is where the frustration starts. You put out a policy nobody follows. Managers aren't holding their people accountable. Your company is at greater risk.

You feel like nobody cares (but you). Nobody's paying attention (so why bother). It doesn't matter (as long as costs stay low).
You keep your head down and stay out of trouble.
Even with the best intentions, many safety professionals abandon their plans, file away their notes, and stop trying.
(and how to finally turn your work into the results and recognition that move your career forward)
You know the regulations. You write the policies. You run the training. And it STILL isn't getting you promoted, paid what you're worth, or pulled into the room where decisions get made. That's not a knowledge problem. Four specific things keep all your effort from translating into results and recognition. Fix these, and you stop being the hardest worker nobody notices.

REASON #1
Most safety professionals approach the role like they're in control. Their title says manager, after all. But they don't understand the limits to their authority. They speak like a broken record to a room of people wearing earbuds, then use that lack of authority as the excuse for why nothing's changing.
You don't stop when they say no. You change your tactics. Nobody told you this would be easy. They also didn't tell you that persuasion and campaigning were part of the job.
It's time to learn a different way... and how to actually get people to change their minds, beliefs, and behaviors.

REASON #2
It seems reasonable that the main focus of a safety department would be regulatory compliance. The problem is regulations are the bare minimum, and the bare minimum will NEVER get you the results that get you noticed.
Putting most of your focus on the minimums actually keeps you buried in compliance and invisible to the people who decide who moves up.
But when you turn your focus to what your team's goals are and what your employees actually want improved, you make greater strides AND meet regulations at the same time.
There are simple steps that get you both.

REASON #3
What gets measured gets managed. But the easiest thing to measure in safety is the accidents. And by then, it's too late.
Measuring leading indicators has always been a sticking point for even the best safety professionals.
When you have precise hazard assessments and behavior analysis, you can identify what behaviors cause injuries before they happen, and show leadership exactly where your program is moving the needle. Throw the data into the right system, and your next safety initiative writes itself.
Stop looking at the surface. The wins that actually get you noticed come from the tiny details in behavior that put the odds in your favor.

REASON #4
You've seen it. An employee safety committee that ends up being the Safety Manager Show. A manager's meeting where you give your trend analysis to a room of blank faces.
Real collaboration starts when you have solid relationships with your employees and you step back from solving everything yourself. When people feel like you're actually listening, they start to speak.
You have to be open to your coworkers' ideas. Even the bad ones. Because the best safety programs always fail when they're not built as a team effort.

The professional development community for safety professionals building a six-figure career.
Build collaborative systems that shift safety work to the people who actually have hire-and-fire authority. You stop carrying it alone. You start being the strategic expert who guides the people who do.
Fixes the overwhelm of being a department of one... where safety gets dumped on you alone, with too much to do and no one to share the load.
Speak the language of business. Demonstrate value in dollars, efficiency, and risk. When you stop making the moral argument and start making the business case, the executive team stops tuning you out.
Fixes being ignored... you're not wrong, you're just speaking accidents and compliance when leadership only hears dollars, risk, and efficiency. Learn the translation and they start listening.
Get outside the bubble of your own company. You've only ever seen safety done one way, in one organization. When you hear how safety professionals across a dozen industries are solving the exact same problems you're facing, something shifts. You realize your skills aren't company-specific. They're career-defining. And your confidence follows.
Fixes the confidence gap that comes from working in a bubble... no one to compare notes with, never quite sure if what you're doing is right.
If you watched the video, you already know the framework... the Safety Management Cycle, the influencer layer, the three pillars. This page is the rest of the picture. What's actually inside the program, what you'll build, and what that investment looks like.

I ditched the safety police hat long ago. I've seen more success by working alongside management and collaborating with employees than I ever did doing it all myself or being a drill sergeant about it.
25+ years as a safety professional in 15 different industries taught me to pay more attention to marketing and psychology than to the regulations. That's why I pursued my degree in psychology and became a certified coach specializing in leadership. I also earned a postgraduate in project management... which is exactly why everything I teach runs on a repeatable system instead of guesswork.
My passion for safety took me, and the companies I worked with, all the way to VPP. I've mentored over 20 facilities reaching for STAR status. I was honored to be an SGE and assist OSHA with on-site inspections.
After personally training over 700 safety professionals, I keep seeing the same thread holding people back. Both the people entering the field and the ones stuck on a plateau.
That's what Safety Leadership Academy addresses.

Being new to safety, your podcast as well as the tools you recently shared with me are very much appreciated. I truly enjoy listening to your podcasts. I am very familiar with my company's operations and
structure, I have reasonable support from my management team, but no formal
training or experience in a safety role. So, listening to your thoughts, recommendations, and experiences has my mind turning in a hundred directions and has me excited for my new role.
I just wanted to say thanks and let you know that what you are doing, and sharing your knowledge is appreciated. I plan to invest in myself! Please continue doing what you do and I will soak in all that I can.
~Jeremy
I really appreciate the way that you bring the message out and explain it. I wanted to let you know that what you are doing works and is awesome!
Keep up the great work in helping people and organizations stay safe. It is a calling that you excel at! Thank you for your efforts and time.

The video was totally worth watching every second. It was very helpful and I actually watched it twice.
Thanks so much and continue making the impact that you do!

Your ideas for empowering team members in the safety committee really stuck with me and it was the first thing I implemented at my previous job. It raised team member morale because they felt more involved and respected, and it made me happy knowing team members had a place they could freely voice their opinion on anything safety related to start an open conversation. This was single handedly the most important part of establishing a good relationship between me and the production team members. Once they realized we were on the same team, we were able to make a lot of process improvements.
The information in you shared helped me get the job at my current company and I’m sure it’ll help me get my next job.

This is great, thank you so much! I plan to utilize the information to train up my family and staff (feel

I attended the Women in Safety Conference at Keene State and I was very inspired by you! Your message of perseverance was something I needed to here. I struggle with imposter syndrome and I also have an unconventional start to safety.
I worked for about 2 years for an Industrial Hygiene Consulting firm. In March, I began working as an EHS Coordinator and I love it. I have learned so much.
My end goal is to become a safety manager. I’ve been also listening to your podcast on my drive home from work. It has inspired me to take the next step and get my Master’s. I just wanted to thank you for making your tools accessible. I can’t wait to learn more from you.
Thank you,
~Katie K.

Thank you again for this community you have built and the academy you started. I would not have a clue about what I am doing without your help.
The work you did help me support my family and I am forever grateful.

Safety Brye is not only an influencer, but has real experiences she can draw on to tell a story that reinforces a topic. Any topic covered has takeaways, some more than others depending on your point in your career, or current role.
"Wins" that I have seen recently include:
Fall Protection Systems - Ironworkers rely on their fall pro harness, attach points, and retractables. Giving demonstrations, checklists, taking the time to show them how to inspect their equipment has led to them inspecting before use, and actually asking me questions on things they think might be wrong!! WIN.
Second biggest measurable win was our Work Comp rates and figures. This year alone a savings of 34% was achieved, and incident #'s also decreased 25%.
Safety Geek is a program that actually has the human touch element that goes along way.

Great job, this is a HUGE value for the information you are presenting at the price you are charging. You're a fantastic presenter! I am transitioning into safety from my role as a production supervisor. The Academy will surely help me produce a stellar safety program for my team.
Thank you for being passionate about helping people & creating a path to a STAR/VPP safety program. Thanks for caring and sharing.

We're going to start off with a strong foundation by building the skills necessary to win your managers and employees over.
Here's where we'll be breaking down your role as a Safety Manager and the actions you can take to strengthen your position within the company. The mindset shifts you'll have by the end of this module will be like rocket fuel to your safety program.
With the knowledge and vision of what your position is supposed to be, along with the specific steps to improve your influence of those around you, you'll have the confidence to stand up for your safety improvements, initiatives, or programs.
Now that you have rallied your troops and your team is eager to improve safety and they finally understand that safety makes their jobs easier - let's get started on implementing a solid safety program.
The first step is clearly identifying every possible hazard in your operations. We'll put frameworks in place that not only finds your current hazards but highlights any new hazards quickly and makes it super simple to throw them through your Safety Management Cycle to eliminate them.
When you have strong systems in place to examine how the job is done and how the equipment is holding up, there will be no stone ever left unturned. No accident will surprise you because you already found the potential and, in our next module, eliminated it as much as possible.
We know our hazards, so let's take steps to eliminate them. Unfortunately, this is the stage of the Safety Management Cycle that most Safety Managers get wrong. But no worries, I've got you. After module one, this is the MOST IMPORTANT module. In these lessons, you'll learn the tricks to uncovering the best corrective actions that your entire team will be eager to follow. We'll develop a detailed plan on how to execute those actions with absolute success.
You have your detailed action plan. Your policies, procedures, and training materials are at the ready. If you don't implement them effectively, it's all for naught. Let's not allow your idea to falter and crash. Being strategic about how your programs are executed and having a strong follow-up method practically guarantees your success. In this module, we'll look at how adults learn so you can craft your implementation around their needs first. We'll get your employees asking you how they can be involved and by using a bit of 'Sales 101' we'll having them buying safety like it's running out of stock. This is where behavior change either happens or it doesn't. So getting it right matters. In some cases, it could mean whether or not an injury happens.
Now that everything is in place and your plan has come to completion, let's make sure it's working the way you expected and giving you the results you want.
Even the BEST plans can fail and if you don't take steps to examine them after they're finished, you're missing the mark, big time. In this module, we'll not only examine what is and isn't working, but we'll take active measures to further increase compliance with your new procedures.
Being a safety leader is being a coach. The front line supervisors and employees make up your team. Without their success, you don't win either. In addition, the data collected in this stage of the process is vital to your continuous improvement process.
We're coming to the end of our Safety Management Cycle. All the data you've collected in the other modules is now ready to be crunched, poked, and prodded so you can find the best areas to focus on that'll give you the biggest impact. When decisions are made based on data, the drama is taken out of the equation and you're no longer guessing about what to do next. Knowing how to crunch these numbers is one of the biggest differences between an outstanding or mediocre safety leader. This stage will make your safety program stronger, where you dig deep to REALLY find those problem areas and focus on them through the continuous improvement model. Without good trending data, you'll never get to zero.

“Safety Leadership Academy gave me the confidence to work for a larger organization, making a significant difference in my salary and positively impacting my family.”

“Safety Leadership Academy made me excited about safety management again. It has changed my approach to safety and for the first time safety has been involved in senior leadership.”

“Safety Leadership Academy was well worth the investment. It has been a huge refresher for me and in 8 months we have seen a 34% incident reduction.”

“Safety Leadership Academy gave me the confidence to be more vocal in promoting change and getting people to look at things differently. I am more comfortable when I’m sharing ideas.”
When you join Safety Leadership Academy, you get lifetime access to the core course, bonuses, and all the templates and worksheets that will transform you from an Underappreciated Safety Servant who is expected to do it all with little to no support to a Respected Safety Executive who is a valued member of the team and blows your team away during monthly program reviews.
And I get it. You've committed. So you go chase the credentials that's supposed to make it official and worth more in the job market.
The thing that nobody is telling you about that path?
Those credentials takes four to six years. And for every one of those years, your career sits still... while you wait on a piece of paper to "qualify" you for the work you're already doing.
That's four to six years of stalled titles. Stalled pay. Stalled momentum.
They learn how to do the job NOW. They get results NOW. And then they work on the degree as they go... if they even still need it by the time they get there.
That's the gap the Academy fills.
Now, can you piece all of this together on your own? 100%. Everything inside the Academy is learnable from free resources, hard knocks, and trial and error.
But I've personally trained over 700 safety professionals across 15+ industries, so I'll tell you exactly what that road costs: five to ten years of figuring it out the hard way. Five to ten years of watching promotions and the salary that comes with them pass you by.
And waiting for your employer to fund your growth? That's just one more way to stay stuck.
Wesley spent 25 years at one company. Built their entire safety program. And after he earned his SMS, HR still said no to the raise. Staying put and hoping they'll finally see your worth almost never pays off the way you think it will.
Here's the math that actually works in YOUR favor: invest in the skills now, and you can be earning more in a couple of years... before you'd have even finished that degree.
The do-it-yourself path costs you years you don't get back.
The Academy is none of those. It's one roadmap, one community, and the systems that take you from the safety lead carrying the whole program alone... to the Respected Safety Executive with a seat at the table, the income, and the respect to match.
And it gets you there in a fraction of the time, without the years of trial and error.

No pressure. No obligation call. Just a conversation whether this is your next step.
Safety Leadership Academy works across every industry. I've trained safety professionals in construction, manufacturing, food distribution, energy, pharmaceuticals, government, casinos, and more. The Safety Management Cycle applies anywhere people work.
Certifications teach you the regulations. The Academy teaches you how to get people to actually follow them. And how to position yourself as a leader, not just a compliance officer. Most of our students already have their 30-hour card or CSP when they join.
You can. But if you do it without learning how to actually run a program first, you'll graduate with a credential and the same frustrations. The Academy teaches what no classroom does... how to lead people, build management support, and advance your career, regardless of the letters after your name.
Stage 1 is entirely about building management support. Not by begging. By learning to communicate safety's value in the language they understand: dollars, efficiency, and risk.
The curriculum is self-paced with lifetime access. Most students work through the core material over 90 days while implementing as they go. You can move faster or slower depending on your schedule.
Yes. The curriculum is self-paced, and most students spend about an hour a week on it while implementing as they go. You're not adding a second job. You're learning to do the one you have in a way that finally gets you ahead.
After your 12-month enrollment ends, you have the option to stay in the community at a discounted monthly rate. We'll cover all of that on your Roadmap Session.
Yes. The first step is booking a Roadmap Session. It's a real conversation about your career, your goals, and whether the Academy is the right fit. If it is, we'll talk through enrollment then.
Yes, we have a few options, including Klarna, AfterPay, and in-house plans. Your Roadmap Session is where we walk through the one that fits you best.
Some do. Most don't. The Academy is built for the safety professional who's invested in their own career, not waiting on the company to fund their growth. If your employer wants to invest, that's a bonus. The decision and the commitment is yours.

If you read this far then you're clearly thinking hard about it. There's power in making a decision. Even if that decision is a "No."
It's the indecisiveness that causes stress and stalls progress.
Here's a tip: the question I always ask myself when I'm in a situation like this is:
"1, 3, or 6 months from now - WILL I REGRET NOT DOING IT?"
If the answer is anything other than a solid "NO", then I'm all in.
I have one more thing to tell you.
Remember - I've got your back
You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. I would love to help you move your program as well as your career forward.
